SALEM, Mass. (AP) - A Massachusetts man who sexually assaulted two teenage girls he lured to his home has been sentenced to up to five years in prison.
Richard Reardon, of Gloucester, was sentenced Tuesday following his unexpected guilty pleas to counts of attempted rape and indecent assault last month.
The Salem News reports Reardon's attorney was preparing to convince a jury not to believe the victim's accounts.
The attorney says the case changed after one of the 13- and 14-year-old victim's found a nude photo of Reardon on her phone.
Following his prison term, Reardon will be on probation for four years, with conditions that include sex offender treatment, a GPS bracelet and registration as a sex offender, as well as an order that he have no contact with the victims.
